Supe Solid base and great fit for wikiwiki 10ft Offset Hanging Umbrella

This base is a perfect fit for our wikwiki 10ft offset hanging Patio Umbrella (bought both on Amazon). Only gave it 4 stars because there were no instructions, no washers in the Base kit and the bolts are cheap. Just had to be careful to ensure the wikiwiki base pole was correctly oriented when bolting onto the Giantext base cross piece. The "click in" connections on the wikiwiki Umbrella Base Pole are there to align the pole and hanging Umbrella and had to be aligned narrow side of the base to the narrow side of the base.

Pay Attention to all who said NOT UNIVERSAL

The holes of my 10 ft cantilever umbrella absolutely do not line up with the cross bars that came with this unit. And the cross bars of my umbrella are longer than the base in both directions - basically both cross bars extend out of the base. So this is no way universal, as some other reviewers noted as well. I will try to keep it by adding some bracket or something - so the pole attaches to the bracket, and the bracket attaches to the cross bars that came with the unit. Just too much work while this should have been simpler.

not heavy enough

Definitely not heavy enough for a cantilever umbrella. It flips right over in a small breeze. It was a waste of my money. It does roll nicely.

great umbrella base

This is a very versatile umbrella base, it works for the standard straight up patio umbrella as well as the offset patio umbrella type. What i really like about this base is the shape, It's narrow and long so it doesn't take up lot of horizontal space and it can be placed in between the seats easier. The base has top hole, which is used for pouring sands and water in to add weights. I filled it with about 60 lbs of sands (which probably filled half of the base) and the rest i added water. It's super heavy once the base is all filled up. On the back of the base, there's also another hole which can be opened to release the water and sands, which is a great idea that my other umbrella base don't have. This base also has built-in wheels on the bottom which makes it much easier to move it around, without the wheels, it would be very hard to reposition it unless someone else can help me carry it, so having the built-in wheels is a very important feature. I use this base with a 10 ft wide offset umbrella and it's been holding it very well, very strong and sturdy. This is a very good deal, other similar umbrella bases at my local hardware store are selling for over $100.

Heavy Weight

I couldn't believe only one piece is heavy enough to hold the umbrella. This base works really well, and I am glad I bought it instead of making one. Otherwise, on a windy day the umbrella legs will come out of the single weight. I use 2 on each leg, so I am able to interlock the weights and have a very secure hold. I got the umbrella without the weights, and it fly to the neighbor house one day when I got home from work. Who know I have the big of the wind, and this one is my life saver. These are very nice, classy-looking canopy weights. These are much nicer looking than cinderblocks or my DIY buckets with sand in it. It come with it own metal base,and they are really nice quality as well. I didnot have to custom any modification to make it hold. They came in a reinforced package so that was nice. I'm really glad I went with this set up instead of making my own or getting something I have to fill.

Easy to set up and supports the umbrella

We have an offset patio umbrella and it is so awkward to keep upright. This base is so easy to use. I was able to slide the bottom of the pole through and attach the base. Then I filled it with sand. I chose sand over water since we live in Arizona and I was worried the sun might boil the water away.

I love that I can easily move this around my patio. I never added sand or water and it still held down my umbrella just fine.

Works better than I expected

All the reviews complained about the small hole that takes hours to fill with sand. Those that fill it with water complained it was difficult to drain because there are separate internal compartments for sand or water. Didn't make sense to me.

My umbrella falls with water only

I filled with the maximum amount of water and in windy day, my umbrella falls. I guess you need to put some sand in it. Hope this helps.

Does It's Job

Overpriced for what you get, but the right tool for the job. And I'm not sure you will find it cheaper elsewhere. The base was missing hardware on arrival, but seller responded promptly and cheerfully with new hardware. Construction was adequate overall. Recommended.

Seems Identical to Pricier Ones

I wasn't sure if this came with the metal rails or whether the bolt pattern would match. As you can see in the pictures, the answer was yes for both, and it included the bolts to mount the poles and to connect the rails to the main unit. My umbrella pole bolted right on. However, there were no washers. Hopefully, the screws holding the rails to the unit will survive as I didn't bother to find washers , but those are more easily accessible simply by tipping the unit on its side. I did use washers to bolt the pole on because those can't be tightened again without disassembling everything. Anyway, so far so good.

Sturdy

My offset umbrella installed perfectly. I filled mine with sand, and it is rock solid. I move it around the pool area to shade the kids and have no problems. The design looks nice, and the plastic is sturdy.
